Airtel Magiq or Beetel Magiq Android Tablet Review

Airtel has jumped into the market for low end, low cost tablets targeted towards the budget conscious segment. The Airtel Magiq Android Tablet costs Rs. 9990. Although it can not hold a candle to the likes of Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Atrix or Acer Iconia, it still is a good tablet in its own right.

Airtel Beetel Magiq Android Tablet is making the tablet computing devices accessible to more people due to its lower costs.

Features of the tablet

1. 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor from QUALCOMM

2. 512 MB RAM

3. 8GB internal storage

4. 7 ‘’ WVGA TFT Touch Screen (Resistive)

5. 3G, EDGE, GPRS

6. WiFi 802.11/b/g/n

7. Bluetooth

8. Dual Cameras

9. 2200 mAh battery

10. External memory of up to 16 GB

What is it good for?

This is what the Airtel Beetel Magiq Tablet can do

Video, Music, Social Networking, Games

You can watch videos on YouTube or any other flash video websites. You can watch streaming movies on this tablet. This tablet is Flash enabled. You can use Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and keep in touch with your friends. You can download instant messengers from the market and chat using Yahoo, MSN, GTALK, ICQ, SKYPE. You can also use VOIP apps like skype, nimbuzz etc. You can use it to surf the web, send and read email. You can play games like Angry Birds on it. There are thousands of games in the Android market, most of them are free. But, the resistive touch screen on this tablet can hamper game play.

Office

You can read, create, modify MS Office documents, through GDOCS or by using Office Apps like Documents2Go or Quick Office.

Ebooks, News, PDF, Magazines

Download the Kindle app and you can buy ebooks from Amazon and read them on your tablet. You can also copy existing ebook files in epub, mobi , prc format and read them by using the Aldiko or any other ebook reader app. You can use Adobe Reader or any other PDF reader app to read PDF files. You can download news, magazines apps to access and read hundreds of newspapers and magazines from around the world, most of them free.

Buy this tablet, if

a. you have a tight budget

b. you will watch movies from sites like megavideo, videobb etc

c. you will use it to access MS Office documents

d. you will read ebooks

e. you will hardly use it for playing games.

The tablet has a good processor but the resistive single touch screen takes it down.

I will not recommend it for power users , due to it’s screen limitations.

About the Author

- When not thinking about good food, I goof around with my sons( the eldest one. The younger one is still quite small and does not show any interests in the awesome things we do), like playing console and PC games, racing RC cars and tinkering with electronic gadgets. Sometimes I also look after our family business when I get time or when the wife screams at me or both. What with my "busy schedule", It is a wonder I get time to write this blog. So Thank Me Sincerely :-)
